PROCEEDING IS NOT A GOAL, BUT A MEANS

We are real litigators: conducting legal proceedings is the basis of our office. In doing so, we apply a number of principles. We don’t see a lawsuit as an end in itself, but as a means to an end – your goal. Sometimes negotiation is better than litigating, more often negotiation is only done after a lawsuit has been started. And we don’t litigate if we think the chances of success are too low.

THE FIRST CALL IS NON-CONSULTING

At our office, the first consultation with a lawyer is always without obligation. During an introductory meeting it is almost always possible to make a good estimate of both the chances of success of your case and the costs. We ask new clients to first email us their legal question via a web form.

HOW WE USE THE RIGHT FOR YOU

Lawyers are there for their clients and not for the public interest. There are those who think that justice is mainly there for big, strong companies with deep pockets and for the government to exercise power. You may think that lawyers only want to work for these strong parties. We see that differently. For us, the law is a wonderful system for compensating for inequality of power and achieving just goals.

Many lawyers in the Randstad started at a large firm and are still working at a large firm. Or sometimes at a slightly smaller office but still in the Randstad. Then, of course, you miss out. You also become something of a lawyer, to be sure, but with a limited Randstad view; you don't know much more of the world than your own little area of law. That's why I'm glad I started in the back corner of a region of the country that is itself called Achterhoek (Komrij?). It has made me the lawyer I am. I was given unique opportunities and experiences to learn the trade.
